Baronian, Elizabeth of Waltham, formerly of Medford, MA, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2012. She was 90. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Hovaness and Margaret ( Kharagavoorian ) Baronian, both survivors of the Armenian Genocide. She worked as an executive secretary for the Badger Corporation in Boston. She was an active member of the Armenian community and a frequent volunteer for F.A.C.S.( Friends of Armenian Culture Society). A wonderful cook, she hosted numerous dinner parties for Armenian organizations and Tufts University. She was the sister of the late John Baronian of Medford, MA, and she is survived by her sisters, Helen Baronian of Waltham and Stella Aftandilian of Weston, MA. Affectionately known as “Aunt Betty’’, she is also survived by her nephews: John Aftandilian and his wife Krista of Belmont, MA; Gregory Aftandilian and his wife Nazeni of Vienna, VA; and Ara Aftandilian and his wife Terri Lee of Topsfield, MA, and six grandnieces and grandnephews: Lia, Melanie, Victoria, Alexander, Danielle and Alec Aftandilian. Funeral service at Saint Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church, 38 Elton Avenue, Watertown on Wednesday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours at the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
